Frydl, Jr.
January 2, 1937 – December 10, 2022
USAF Lt. Col. (Ret.) Frank W. Frydl, Jr., 85, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 10, 2022. Frank served in the Air Force for 22 years, receiving many awards including the Distinguished Flying Cross. Upon retiring, he taught at Fayetteville Technical Community College for 13 years.
Frank was born January 2, 1937, in Cleveland, OH, the son of the Late Frank W. and Eleanor (Kalina) Frydl. He was Preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Steiner and a brother, Jim Frydl
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margy, their four sons, Tom, Mike (Linda), Jim (Jenni), and Joe (Dawn), 4 granddaughters, and 3 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 10-11am at St. Patrick Catholic Church with a Memorial Mass following at 11am. Interment with Military Honors will be at 2pm in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
