Obituary

Col.Frank Martin Rezeli (ret.), 95, died October 15, 2013 at the Inn at Quail Haven in Pinehurst, NC.Frank was born on September 8, 1918 in Palmerton, Pa. to Anthony and Mary Kripli Rezeli. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1939, and was stationed on the island of Oahu when Pearl Harbor was attacked. After graduating from Officer Candidate School, he served as an aircraft maintenance officer in North Africa, Italy, and Iran during WWII. After the war, he was involved in the Berlin Airlift. He spent 26 years in the Air Force, the last eight at Pope Air Force Base, NC., where he served as Chief of Aircraft Maintenance. Following his retirement from the Air Force he lived in Fayetteville, NC and worked in Civil Service at the air base. He moved to Quail Haven Village in Pinehurst, NC in 2006 where he made many new friends who will miss him dearly, as will his friends in Fayetteville and all his family. Frank was a communicant of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fayetteville and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pinehurst. As his health declined in the past few months, his chief complaint was that he was no longer able to help other people. He was predeceased by his wife Anna Suran Rezeli and his sister Teresa Waros. He is survived by his sons Frank Rezeli and wife Kathleen of Pinehurst and David Rezeli and wife Karen of Bunn, NC, 4 grandchildren,3 great- grandchildren, and his brother Anthony Rezeli and wife Nancy of Palmerton, Pa. A memorial service will be held in the Bill Lowdermilk Building at Quail Haven Village at 2 PM on Tuesday, October 22 2013.
