Mrs. Towanna Gale Fields Thompson, 68, of Fayetteville, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015, in Highsmith Rainey Hospital.

She was a lifelong Fayetteville native and a 1970 graduate of Methodist University.

She was preceded in death by her wonderful parents, Merita and J.L. Fields.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Morris; son, Brandon of Fayetteville; her sister and best friend, Debra Lancaster and husband Larry; the loves of her life, granddaughters Briana, Hailey and Madison; her special niece Kristie West and husband Greg; great niece, Emma and great nephews, Graham and Brock.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 1pm in Jernigan Warren Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 pm at Jernigan Warren prior to the service. She will be laid to rest in LaFayette Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
