George Edward Chandler, 89, of Fayetteville, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

George was born on May 28, 1932, in Greenwich, Connecticut to the late George E. Chandler and Mary Graham Chandler. He retired as MSG from the U.S. Army after 27 years of service, and then retired from Civil Service at Ft. Bragg. He loved bowling and served as the Bowling League Secretary for many years. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 1pm at St. John's Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce B. Chandler; sons, Steven Chandler and wife, Sandy, Glenn Chandler and wife, Lenora, and Gary Chandler; daughters, Linda Farmer and husband, Larry, and Dianne Corey and husband, Justin; 8 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
