George Rufus Davis, 88, of Fayetteville, passed on September 20, 2018.   George was an active, faithful and lifelong member of Sherwood Presbyterian Church.  He was owner and operator of Acme Fence Company.

George was preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Mattie Sherrill Davis.

George is survived by his wife of 63 years, Hazel Ward Davis; sons David (Kathy) Davis, G.R. (Mary Helen) Davis; daughter Rebecca (Vance) Tyson; brother Paul (Kathleen) Davis; sister Dorothy (Harold) Matthews; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 22 at 3:00 at Lafayette Memorial Park.  Visitation at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home the same day from 1:00- 2:30.

In lieu of flowers, gifts to your favorite charity in his name or food donation to Gray's Creek Christian Center.
