Mr. George Morris Gore, 83, of Fayetteville, NC died on Tuesday, August 22, 2023

He was born on February 6, 1940, in Cumberland County, NC to the late Henry Clarence Gore and Alice Smith Gore.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Roberta McConnell Gore on June 21, 2023, and his son, Randy Michael Gore, a brother, Eddie Gore, and a sister, Betty Jo Gore Brumbles.

As a young man he delivered newspapers and eventually joined the US Army, later working with Western Publishing Company and retired as a manager with the Fayetteville Observer.  He was a Certified Public Accountant and enjoyed building and fixing things and racing hot rods.

He is survived by his sister, Annie Gore Smith and her husband, Ben of Hope Mills, NC, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 1pm in Lafayette Memorial Park West, 6701 Raeford Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28304

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, 600 College St, Oxford, NC 27565
