Retired US Army SSG George Benjamin Villagomez, 68, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 29 at 1 pm in All-American Chapel. The burial will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors.

George retired from the US Army after 21 years, including service in the Vietnam War. He was also retired from the US Post Office.

He is survived by his wife, Rosa Villagomez; daughter, Georgieana Greenfield and husband Maurice of Hope Mills; two sons, Benjamin Villagomez and James Dwiggins, both of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Elijah, Ireyena and Gianna; two brothers, Robert Villagomez and wife Carmen of Washington and Donald Dwiggins and wife Leena of Colorado; two sisters, Rocky Carr and husband George of Fayetteville and Cathy Payuan and husband Ador of Guam; aunt, Julia Cruz of Georgia; and other extended family in California.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, March 28,m from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
