Retired Command Sgt. Maj. George A. Zacher, 74, of Fayetteville, died Aug. 22, 2005, in his home. Mr. Zacher was a veteran of the Army Special Forces and served in Korea and Vietnam. Services: Graveside memorial, 2 p.m. Friday in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake. Visitation: 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Survived by: Wife, Chong Cha; daughter, Melinda Cook; brothers, Bill, Clarence, Francis and James; sisters, Mary Immaculata and Mary Prunty; and five grandchildren.
