Geraldine Sawyer Sadler, 86, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Geraldine was born on September 17, 1940, in Pamlico County to the late Emory and Louise Toler Sawyer.

In 1958, Geraldine married the love of her life, Thomas A. Sadler, who preceded her in death at the age of 40. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and dedicated provider for her family. Geraldine found great joy in caring for those she loved and took pride in preparing for her family by freezing and canning fresh vegetables.

In her younger years, Geraldine enjoyed painting ceramics. She especially cherished spending time with her family, and some of her favorite memories were made around the table playing cards. She also enjoyed working word-search puzzles and fishing.

Geraldine will be remembered for her loving heart, devotion to her family, and the many ways she cared for those around her. Her family will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.

A graveside service will be held at Lafayette Memorial Park on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Sharon Gunter and her husband, Carey; her son, Tommy Sadler, Jr.; and her brother, Bill Sawyer.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301.
