Gernell McLaurin Cannady, 83 of Fayetteville passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 .

Gernell was a faithful member of Sherwood Presbyterian Church and a self-employed seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Blackman Cannady.

Funeral services will be Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren Chapel. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

She is survived by her son, William Earl Cannady and wife Joy of Fayetteville; daughter, Grace Cannady Hobson and husband Roger of Hope Mills; brothers, Dan McLaurin and wife Ann of Eastover; Robert McLaurin and wife Mae of Goldsboro; sisters, Betty Adcox of Parkton and Sadie Williams of Clement; grandchildren, Jeff Cannady and wife Rebecca, Justin Hobson and fiancé Mariah Lockamy, April Hobson and partner Jason Snoyman; great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Katelyn Cannady and Braylen Lockamy.
