Gladys Trogdon Spears, 77, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, in her home. Mrs. Spears was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a past Worthy Matron. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, in St. James Lutheran Church with Pastor Louise Hilbert officiating. Burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday evening, at Jernigan Warren. Mrs. Spears is survived by her son, Kenneth Owen Spears, Jr and wife, Julianne, of Fayetteville; four daughters, Susan Spears Ellis of Fayetteville, Gail Spears Bolton and husband, Tommy, of Pinehurst, Kennie Lynn Spears of Fayetteville, and Joi-Anna Spears Tart and husband, John, of Fayetteville; a brother, Edmund Trogdon Jr. of Meadowview, Virginia; three sisters, Eunice Trogdon Hill, Dorothy Trogdon Tatum, and Barbara Trogdon Rollins, all of Fayetteville; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
