Retired U.S. Army Sgt. Glenn Edward Couch, 85, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mr. Couch was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Carroll Memorial Baptist Church. Funeral services for Mr. Couch will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, in Carroll Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. Richard Edwards and the Rev. Carl Sousa officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Mr. Couch is survived by his wife, Eleanor Lassiter Couch of the home; son, Charles E. Couch and wife Mary of Fayetteville; daughters, Patricia Taylor of Fayetteville and Elizabeth Warren and husband Bud of Fayetteville; stepson, Eddie Lassiter and wife Tracie of Virginia Beach, Va.; stepdaughters, Donna Witz of Greensboro, Linda Sellers and husband Tim of Hope Mills, and Brenda Jackson and husband Dewey of Bladenboro; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
