Guy Eugene Mathis, 90, of Fayetteville passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at his residence with his family by his side.

Guy was born on April 14, 1932, in Rome, Georgia to the late Homer Charles Mathis and Viola Hobgood Mathis.

For 20 years Guy gave to his country by serving in the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy and eventually retired from the Georgia National Guard.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date.

Guy is survived by his wife of 65 years, Beatrice "Bea" Waits Mathis; daughter, Connie Black, and husband Ken Hooley; son, Ricky Mathis, and wife Kathy; granddaughters, Ashleigh Gonzalez and husband Rafael, Elizabeth Mathis, Emily Boswell and husband Mark; great granddaughter, Harper Boswell and a nephew David Mathis.
