Harold R. Fuller, CW2, 60 of 737 Threewood Dr. died Wednesday, June 28, 2006 in Highsmith-Rainey memorial hospital after a long illness. He was born September 2, 1945 in Oakland, California.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. with full military honors. Visitation will follow after the service. A private interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC with military honors at a later date.
Harold was a Army veteran with 20 years of service. He served 3 tours of duty in Vietnam and several years of his military career were spent in Germany. Some of his achievements include: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, meritorious service medal, Army Service Ribbon, and overseas service ribbon
After his army career, Harold enrolled at Campbell College seeking a degree in accounting. Later he accepted a position at Fayetteville Publishing Company starting out as a circulation manager and was promoted over the years to assistant zone manager. And home delivery manager. As home delivery manager, Harold was responsible for the daily delivery of over 85,000 in a 10 count area. He managed 18 district managers and a carrier force of 250 people covering 10 counties in southeastern N.C. He was also fleet manager for the circulation department consisting of 28 vehicles used primarily by the customer service and district manager force.
Harold leaves behind his wife of nearly 25 years Barbara Bradshaw Fuller, 2 sons Michael Lance Fuller of Fayetteville, Brandon Ray Fuller of Raleigh, stepson Captain William Todd Craven of Fayetteville, Father Donald Fuller and stepmother Dorothy Fuller if Las Vegas, Nevada. Sister Donna Hummer of Hawthorne, California. Brother George William Fuller of Dothan, Alabama. Stepsisters Judy Neilson of Huntington Beach California, Dr. Jane Ann Munroe of Brea, California and Lisa Boyer of Kapaa, Hawaii. He was preceded in death by his mother Melva Clark Fuller and a stepdaughter Rhonda Lynn Craven all of Fayetteville. 1 great granddaughter.
