Mr. Harold Dixon Stevens, 85, of Fayetteville, passed away early Saturday, January 11, 2014, in Highland House. A graveside service will be held Monday, January 13, at 3 pm in LaFayette Memorial Park with Rev. Maurice Lancaster and Rev. Tryon Lancaster presiding. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:45 pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home. Harold was co-owner and operator of IGA Foodliner with his longtime business partner, the late Billy Moore, for more than 46 years. He enjoyed locksmithing and was a lifetime member of the NC Locksmith Association. He was a member of Victory United Methodist Church and was a former member of Creasy Proctor Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Clairee Stevens of the home; two daughters, Lynn Strickland of the home and Kathy Schaffer and husband Charlie of Louisburg; 2 grandchildren, Brandi Lynn Lovelace of St. Petersburg, Florida and Jennifer Dawn Chaney of Louisburg; and a great-grandson, Lucian Michael Blanchard; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Victory United Methodist Church Building Fund, 404 Quality Road, Fayetteville NC 28306.
