Harold L. Tharrington Sr. FAYETTEVILLE -- Harold Lee Tharrington Sr., 88, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013. Harold was born Sept. 6, 1924, to William Fenner Tharrington and Annie Martin Tharrington. Preceded in death are his brothers, Martin, Alvin and Edward Tharrington; and his sister, Myrtle Ann Leggett. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley Mae Harris Tharrington; sons, Harold Lee Tharrington Jr., William Joseph Tharrington and wife, Pamela Meredith Tharrington, Thomas Edward Tharrington and wife, Amy Wills Tharrington; daughter, Shirley Ann Mosier and husband Steve Ray Mosier; grandchildren, Thomas Lee Kinlaw and wife, Sara Kinlaw, Kevin Wayne Kinlaw and wife, Amy Kinlaw, William Joseph Tharrington Jr., Meredith Leigh Tharrington, Benjamin Ryan Tharrington and Cade Thomas Tharrington; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Andrew Kinlaw, Ava Grace Kinlaw, Kora Lee Kinlaw and Mattie Elizabeth Kinlaw. Harold and Shirley are members of First Christian Church of Fayetteville, where he was a deacon emeritus. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He worked in Fayetteville for Carolina Telephone and Telegraph for 43 years. He leaves us with written instructions and wants the world to know that: "Life has been a Joy with very little sadness." A visitation for the family will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home on Ramsey Street. Funeral services will follow the visitation at noon and will also be held at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street. Harold would appreciate memorials made in his name to the First Christian Church, 1505 Fort Bragg Road, Fayetteville, NC 28305.The family will receive friends Monday 2-25 2013 from 11:00 -12:00 noon at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 25, 2013 at 12:00 noon. at Jernigan-Warren Chapel. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.
