Harvey "Herman" Bunce, 89, of Fayetteville, died Friday, November 4, 2016 at Southeastern Hospice House.

Mr. Bunce attended Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and was a Former Member and Deacon of Lake Rim Baptist Church. Herman was an Army veteran of World War II and was retired from civil service.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Pittman Bunce; parents Wiley B. and Dora Capps Bunce; four sisters and six brothers.

Surviving are his wife, Edith L. Bunce of the home; daughter, Sylvia Ann Gregory and husband Johnny ; grandson, Michael Gregory and wife Louanne Michelle ; brother, Earl Bunce and fiancé Mary Foss; stepsons, Richard Walls and wife Vickie and Joseph Walls and wife Tammy; step-daughter, Diana Carr; five step-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Jernigan-Warren Chapel with Rev. Richard Brown and Rev. Carl Rehrer, officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
