Harvey "Ray" Ruffin, 84, of Linden passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at his home with his beloved family by his side.

Ray was born in Cumberland County, NC to the late Dilcy Mae and John Henry Ruffin.

Ray was a Navy veteran. He fought cancer for 6 years and was a loving and good-natured man. He loved his family and never met a stranger. Ray enjoyed fixing radios, televisions, and computers.

Committal services will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with military honors.

Ray is survived by his wife, Jeannie L. Ruffin, daughters, Michelle Runge, Kitten LaMere (Bryan), Desirae Pietro (Eric), Angelia Duenas; sons, Jerome Ruffin, James Runge, Kenneth Ruffin (Marilyn), Codee Runge; sisters, Doris Allen and Mavis Starling; 17 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cape Fear Valley Cancer Center, 1638 Owen Dr. Fayetteville, NC 28304 or to the family to help with funeral expenses.
