Hazel Ward Davis, 88, of Fayetteville passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at her daughter's home with her beloved family by her side.

Hazel was born May 3, 1934 in Bladen County, NC to Alice and Willie Ward.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Davis; brothers, Stuart Ward, Stanley Ward and wife Eva Lee, Wilton and wife Elsworth; sisters, Esther Ward Edwards and husband HC; Velma Ward Pait and husband Floyd, Darlene Ward Kelly and husband Brodus; and daughter-in-law, Tia Palmisano Davis.

She had strong family ties and was a member of Galeed Baptist Church in Bladenboro, NC until she married George Davis.

Hazel was a licensed cosmetologist and operated Hazel's Beauty Shop until retirement.

She was an active and dedicated member of Sherwood Presbyterian Church serving in many roles including Ordained Elder.

A Private Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Lafayette Memorial Park with Rev. Vance Tyson, officiating. The family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home from 11:30-1:00 PM on Wednesday.

She was survived by her sons, G.R. Davis, Jr., and wife Mary Helen, David Davis and wife Kathy; daughter, Rebecca Tyson and husband Vance; grandchildren, Elizabeth Thomas, Pawley Thomas (Heather), Bailey Thomas (Keisha), Phillip Davis (Brittany), Alicia Garner (Brandon), Alayna Pierce (Barry), Erica Campbell (Kyle), Victoria Davis, and Jeff Tyson; great-grandchildren, Jennason, Adrian, Ronan, Trey, Rheya, Ty, Mariah, Kiley, and JJ.
