Hazel T. Gordon, 94, of Fayetteville, passed away Friday, June 8, 2012. Mrs. Gordon was born May 18, 1918 to the late William L. White of Stedman, and wife, Mary Elizabeth Bedsole White of Bladen County. Mrs. Gordon was married to John W. Gordon of Blackie, KY on September 9, 1941. He preceded her in death on September 7, 1976. She was also preceded in death by her son, William (Bill) Gordon of Lemon Springs, and brother, Paul White of Baltimore, MD. Mrs. Gordon is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Gordon Barrett of Fayetteville, eight grandchildren; Michael W. Barrett and wife, Carla of Stedman; Mark A. Barrett and wife Denise of Fayetteville; Lynne Barrett Hall of Fayetteville; Leigh Barrett Gregory and husband Scott, of Eastover; Laura Barrett Naylor and husband, Michael of Stedman; Christina Gordon Viles and husband, Chris of Fort Valley, GA; Teresa Gordon Grubbs and husband, Jeff of Warner Robbins, GA and John W. Gordon, III and wife Kathy of Fayetteville; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great, great-grandchild. Ma Ma , as she was called by most of her family was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was a faithful member of Faymont Baptist Church for more than fifty years and faithfully sang in the choir. The visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m., Monday, June 11, 2012 at Faymont Baptist Church. Funeral Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Pastor Chris Evans officiating. Burial in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faymont Baptist Church building fund, address, 3663 Cumberland Road, Fayetteville, NC, 28306 and to Cape Fear Valley Hospice, 1830 Owen Drive, #203, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
