Helen R. Johnston FAYETTEVILLE - Mrs. Helen Ruth Johnston, 86, of Fayetteville, died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, in Washington State Veterans Home in Retsil, Wash. Mrs. Johnston was a member of MacPherson Presbyterian Church; and a retired nurse at Womack Hospital from 1967 to 1985. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at noon in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville with the Rev. David Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Bragg Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, from 11 a.m. to noon at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Johnston; and son, Robert Johnston. Mrs. Johnston is survived by son, Paul Johnston and wife Brenda of Port Orchard, Wash.; sister, Mary King of Fayetteville; daughter-in-law Charlene Johnston of Greensboro; four grandchildren, Brent Johnston, Meredith Johnson, Marc Johnston and Lindsay Johnston; and five great-grandchildren. Services entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
