Helen Louise Kroeger, 88, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, was called home to her Lord on August 24, 2021.

A memorial service is planned for 11:00am on Saturday September 4, 2021 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, NC. Reverend Tod Rappe will be officiating. There will be a luncheon following the service for family and friends.

Helen was born in New York on July 16,1933. She moved to NC in the 90's. She graduated from FTCC with an Associates of Applied Science, Early Childhood Education and Special Education. Helen loved working with children and those with disabilities held a special place in her heart. Since 1980 she has cared for children in many capacities; Sunday school teacher, foster care, Child Care technician- Yonkers New York, United Cerebral Center- White Plains NY, Teacher/ Assistant at Spainhour Child DD Services- Fayetteville NC and at both Our Redeemer Lutheran Preschool & Highland Learning Center. Helen enjoyed activities with the Lutheran Women's Missionary League at her church, traveling, reading playing the piano and furthering her knowledge by always taking continuing education classes in a variety of subjects.

Helen was member of the honor society at FTCC 1999-2007, Volunteered at Highsmith-Rainey Hospital, New York Foundling Hospital and Blythedale Children's hospital in Westchester County and New York City.

Helen is survived by 4 nephews Thomas (MA), Edward (Ted) (FL), Peter (ID), & David (NH) Phillips, Paulette and great nephew Chris Phillips, great nieces Patricia and Pam Bailey here in NC, a close friend Alicia Favareau from NY and her church family at ORLC.

Helen was preceded in death by her sister Ann and parents Christopher and Helen Fehskens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Fayetteville NC.
