Mrs. Helen Lancaster Spinosa, 86, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, December 25, 2010, in her residence.
Helen had worked for Owen's Florist and was retired from the Cumberland County schools as a bookkeeper, spending all her years with Massey Hill and Douglas Byrd high schools. She was a lifelong member of Victory United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December, 28, 2010, at 12 noon in Jernigan Warren Chapel by Revs. Paul Smith, Maurice Lancaster, and Tryon Lancaster.
The family will receive friends from 11 am to 12 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E.C. \\"Heck\\" and Lessie Lancaster; her husband of 65 years, Pasquale \\"Pat\\" Spinosa; son-in-law, Charles Andrew Stone, Jr.; grandson, Cas Stone; brothers, Leon and Hershel Lancaster; and sisters, Lenora Cannon and Mavis Tew.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Spinosa Stone of the home; son, Michael Spinosa and wife, Susan, of Fayettteville; a sister, Eunice Galacci of Fayetteville; brother, Ecwood Lancaster and wife, Shirley, of White Lake; 5 grandchildren, Nathan Hair, Michael Spinosa and wife, Jennifer, Matthew Hair, Ross Spinosa, and Sarah Hair; and 4 great-grandchildren, Austin, Tamer, Riley, and Emma Spinosa.
Mrs. Spinosa's family would like to acknowledge and thank Ms. Kima Simmons for the exceptional care and attention that she provided.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either Victory United Methodist Church or a charity of one's choice.
