Fayetteville, NC Henry Carl Powers, Sr, passed away Sunday April 25, 2012. He was 73 years old. He served in the US Navy and retired from Public Works Commission after 30 years of service. He was a member of Culbreth Memorial United Methodist Church, having served on the administrative Council and as a Trustee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Crum and Allie Blount Powers, Brothers, C. C. Powers, Jr and William K. Powers. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Averitte Powers, Three sons, Kyle Powers and wife Alice of Fayetteville, NC, Scott C. Powers and wife Maggie of Lithia, Fla; H. Carl Powers, Jr and wife Laurie of Fayetteville. Eight grandchildren, Lauren Hair & husband Chandler, Courtney, Meagan, Conner, Keller, Madison, Alec and Avery Powers. Three sisters, Charlotte Eddinger of Melbourne, Fl, Emma Lee baker Of Spring Lake, NC and Zula Wood and husband Johnny of Fayetteville NC and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Powers of Parkton, NC. The family will receive friends Wednesday March 28, 2012 from 7pm to 9pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, the funeral will be held Thursday March 29, 2012 at 2pm in Jernigan-Warren Chapel, burial will follow in Cross Creek Cemetery # 3 Memorials may be made to Culbreth Memorial United Methodist Church 1813 Sloan Avenue Fayetteville, NC 28312 The family will receive friends Wednesday march 28, 2012 from 7pm to 9pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, the funeral will be held Thursday March 29, 2012 at 2pm in Jernigan-Warren Chapel, burial will follow in Cross Creek Cemetery #3
