Mrs. Hildegard Zellner Johnson, 93, of Fayetteville, died peacefully Monday, February 21, 2022, at Womack Army Hospital with her son and grandson by her side. She was preceded by her husband of 42 years Jessie Leroy Johnson Sr, and her parents, the late Ludwig and Josephine Zellner of Germany.

She is survived by her five sons, Freddy L. Johnson, Sr, and wife Clarkie, Jessie L. Johnson Jr., Michael E. Johnson Sr., and wife Betty, Carey L. Johnson Sr., and wife Delia, and Thurman D. Johnson, and wife Denise, all of Fayetteville; and by her sister Lotte Joos of Germany. She is further survived by 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Tinnie Scott of Philadelphia, and Lillian Rivers and husband Gene of Clayton, NJ;  one brother-in-law, Shelly Johnson of Fayetteville; and other relatives and friends.

Our entire family would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Womack Army Medical Center, 4 South for their utmost professionalism, compassion and amazing care provided to our mother and family during her illness. For their love and caring, we also extent a special heartfelt thank you to Ms. Cathy West, Mrs. JoAnn Ravel, Mrs. Kathy Elsberry and Dr. Manfred Rothstein and family.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 12:00 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301 with her memorial service following at 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will follow the memorial service at Cumberland Memorial Gardens, 4509 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
