US Army SFC (Retired) Horace Lee Pate,81 of Fayetteville, NC passed away at his home on Saturday Morning the 19th of July. He was Veteran of Korean & Vietnam wars. He also retired from K&W Cafeteria as a general manager. He was preceded in Death by his father, David Andrew Pate, Mother, Mary Francis Capps Pate & 3 brothers, Oscar, Bobby & Marvin Pate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 10am to 11am at Carroll Memorial Baptist Church with the funeral following at 11am in the church sanctuary with Rev. James Baker officiating. Entombment will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Full Military Honors. He is survived by his daughter, Debra Smith & her husband Donald Smith of Fayetteville, a son Ricky Pate & his wife Leti of Fayetteville, a brother, Tommy Pate & his wife Hilda of Fayetteville, a sister Joyce Mason of Fayetteville, a brother Fred Pate & wife Ivey of Honolulu, Hawaii. a grandson, Derrick Pate of Mooresville, & a great granddaughter, Kacyn Shoemaker of Mooresville, NC. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Carroll Memorial Baptist Church 2220 Camden Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28306.
