On November 11, 2021, at the age of 66, Horace Greetly Whitaker, Jr. of Raeford, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord.  He was a gifted athlete and enjoyed many sports in his lifetime, always thankful for his God-given talents.  He served the Lord as a deacon at Tabernacle Baptist Church.

He was predeceased by his father, Horace Greetly Whitaker, Sr.  He is survived by his mother, Irene Whitaker, his dear wife, Sara Davidson Whitaker, his children, Adam Whitaker, Meagan Whitaker, Matthew Coryell, and Marcus Coryell (Tina), his grandchildren, Sophia Whitaker, Cain Whitaker, Joshua Coryell, and Julienne Coryell, and his sisters, Brenda Errico, Linda Young, Judy Whitaker, and Kim Kolden (Dave) as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 11am at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 3219 Lindsay Road, Raeford, North Carolina 28376.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6pm – 8pm, Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, North Carolina 28301.
