Fayetteville, NC- Mrs. Irene Travis Brindel, 82, of Fayetteville, NC died Monday, March 4, 2013 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 2pm in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, NC The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 12pm to 1:30pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Along with her husband, Irene served and lived all over the world. She was a prize winning bowler and a member of many bowling leagues. She also was an expert bridge player and a member of many bridge groups. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Charles Brindel of the home, children, Deborah Croteau and husband Richard of Knoxville, TN, Sherrill "Butch" Brindel and wife Sybil of Rock Hill, SC and Jocelyn Huffine and husband Kenny of Southern Pines; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
