FAYETTEVILLE - Iskey Hall Cain, of 110 Pompton Drive, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2009, in UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
She was born June 15, 1933, in Sampson County, to the late Harvey Pritchard and Mary Jane Naylor Hall. Mrs. Cain was a graduate of Roseboro High School, Class of 1951. She was employed by First Citizens Bank in Fayetteville and Rhudy's Inc., where she retired as a bookkeeper.
Mrs. Cain was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Fayetteville where she lovingly served in many capacities for 52 years.
Iskey is survived by her children, Andy Cain and his wife, Sissy, of Fayetteville, and Larry Cain and his wife, Tracy, of Charlotte. Also surviving are her much beloved grandchildren, Dylan and Brandy Cain of Fayetteville, Jeffrey Gower of Clayton, and Marissa and Jillian Cain of Charlotte; sisters Louise Horne of Fayetteville and Mary \\"Pete\\" Faircloth of Autryville; brothers, James Hall of Fayetteville and Allen Hall of Wake Forest; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Harry; sisters, Marie Faircloth, Wilma Faircloth and Edna Hall; and brother, Walter \\"Tug\\" Hall.
The family would like to thank everyone for their kind expressions of sympathy. Our thanks and eternal gratitude also go out to the doctors and nurses in the Neurosurgery Intensive Care Unit at UNC Hospitals who treated our mother with the utmost care and dignity during her sudden but brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 9, 2009, in Grace Baptist Church, 3901 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, followed by burial in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
Memorials can be made to Grace Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
