Mrs. Iva Swindell Edmondson, 98, of Fayetteville died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Edmondson was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years. She retired from Civil Service at Pope Air Force Base. Mrs. Edmondson was known as "Mrs. Ed" by her co-workers. Mrs. Edmondson's husband Mance and daughter Mancene preceded her in death. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Lafayette Memorial Park with the Dr. Randy White officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Edmondson is survived by her son Dr. Col. Ret. Jeffrey M. Edmondson and wife Lt. Col Ret. Mary Ann Edmondson of Fairfax, Va., granddaughter Heather Lynn Saunders of Durham, sisters Mrs. Linwood Modlin of Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Lucille Laughinghouse of Beaufort, Mrs. Frances Boufford of Plymouth, several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 433 Southerland Dr. Fayetteville, N.C. 28311 or to the American Diabetes Association. The family will receive friends from 10-11am, Saturday April 13 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 11am at Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St.
