Obituary

Joseph Ted Plummer of Fayetteville and Anderson Creek NC died peacefully at Brighton Gardens of Raleigh on Friday April 13, 2012 at the age of 75 after suffering congestive heart failure. He was preceded in death by his parents the late Lennox Eugene Plummer and Lacy Katherine Plummer of Fayetteville, NC and His sister, Ruby Celestine Hurley. Ted grew up in Fayetteville graduated from Fayetteville High School, served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and attended Campbell University. Ted was very successful as a Sales Account Manager in the building supply industry for over 35 years. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, boating, traveling, high school football and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Ted was very active in the community and his church and was a member of the Anderson Creek Ruritan club for many years. The family of Joseph Ted Plummer would like to extend a special thanks to those who have sent all of the cards and well wishes that he has received over the past few years. We would like to thank his family at Flat Branch Presbyterian Church, the folks at Northwood Temple, the entire Anderson Creek community, the gracious staff at the Brighton Gardens of Raleigh and the wonderful folks at Hospice of Wake County. Ted had a candid sense of humor and was always looking for a laugh to share with whoever he was with. During his sickness he never lost his ability to make people laugh and he always appreciated any kind of attention or conversation with anyone. He was a person that was always willing to help his neighbor. Growing up he cherished every minute with his brothers Steve, Dave, Pat and Mike and his sister Tina. He loved his Mom and Dad, his kids and grandkids. He has a special place in his heart for his friend Jewel B. Brett and her entire family who graciously supported him before and after his sickness. Ted was preceded in death by his parents Lennox Eugene Plummer, Lacy Katherine Plummer of Fayetteville and his sister Ruby Celestine Hurley. He is survived by his son Brett Eugene Plummer his wife Leslye Fountain Plummer and his grandson Joseph Fischer Plummer of Raleigh NC ; his daughter Susan Plummer DelMonico and his granddaughter Bronte Isabella DelMonico of Raleigh NC; four brothers Donald Steven Plummer of Olathe Kansas, Ronald David Plummer of Fayetteville, Patrick Eugene Plummer of Fayetteville and Michael Eugene Plummer of Fayetteville. A visitation will be held on Monday April 16, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home 545 Ramsey St Fayetteville, NC. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday April 17, 2012 at 11:00 am at Northwood Temple Church, 4250 Ramsey St, Fayetteville, NC, burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Wake County, www.hospiceofwake.org or Alzheimer's Association Eastern NC, www.alznc.org Condolences can be sent to 3712 Bridgeton Park Dr, Raleigh, NC 27612 A visitation will be held on Monday April 16, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home 545 Ramsey St Fayetteville, NC.
