Mr. Jack D. Thompson, 92 of Raeford passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014 in his residence surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Thompson was a 1941 graduate of Clemson University. He was a retired engineer from AT&T. and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren Chapel with Father Thanh Nguyen, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors at a later date. Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife Dao Holley Thompson of the home; 3 stepchildren David Holley and wife Tracy of Winston-Salem; Robert Holley of Raeford; Johnny Holley and wife Candi of Charlotte; brother Gary Thompson and wife Sara of Illinois; sisters Betty Ann and Jenny of Florida; grandchildren Christian Holley, Jason Holley, Sara Holley, Samuel Holley, Oscar Holley, Mira Holley and Cathy Phillip. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his sister Mary Virginia.
