Jacqueline "Jackie" Cain Hood, 90, of Fayetteville passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Jackie was born February 2, 1932 in Bladen County, NC to the late Amos and Etta Lee Cain. She was preceded in death by her husband, David George Hood; brother, Amos Cain, Jr.; great-grandson, Dustin Adcock. Jackie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Jackie was a longtime member of Cumberland Union Baptist Church. She later moved her membership to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was a faithful member of the Women's Sunday School Class. Funeral services will be held on Monday,16, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Jernigan-Warren Chapel. Burial will follow in Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2:00 pm on Monday. She is survived by a son, Jerry Hood and wife Jackie; daughters, Janet Melvin and husband Larry, Brenda Core and husband Steve; sisters, Frances Dickson, Nancy Smith; brother, Andy Cain and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Greg Melvin and wife Karin, Deanna Melvin, Pamela Cooper and husband Stevie, Alan Core and wife Tracey, Adam Core and wife Monica, Jerry Hood, Jr. and wife Lisa, Jason Hood and wife Susie, Jennifer Thomas and husband Mark; 14 great-grandchildren.
