James I. Cagle FAYETTEVILLE - Retired Army Sgt. Maj. James Ilon Cagle, 88, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, July 9, 2009, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mr. Cagle was a veteran of World War II. He retired as a sergeant major in the U.S. Army after 23 years of service. He also retired from Fort Bragg Bowling Center after 12 years. He was a member of Meigs County Masonic Lodge in Decatur, Tenn. He is survived by his wife, Floryne Bryant Cagle of Fayetteville; son, James William \\"Bill\\" Cagle and wife Laurie of Raleigh; sister, Frankie Cagle Simpson of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. today, July 12, 2009, in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville with the Rev. Floyd Benfield officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. today, July 12, 2009, at the funeral home.
