Obituary

James I. Cagle FAYETTEVILLE - Retired Army Sgt. Maj. James Ilon Cagle, 88, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, July 9, 2009, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mr. Cagle was a veteran of World War II. He retired as a sergeant major in the U.S. Army after 23 years of service. He also retired from Fort Bragg Bowling Center after 12 years. He was a member of Meigs County Masonic Lodge in Decatur, Tenn. He is survived by his wife, Floryne Bryant Cagle of Fayetteville; son, James William \\"Bill\\" Cagle and wife Laurie of Raleigh; sister, Frankie Cagle Simpson of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. today, July 12, 2009, in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville with the Rev. Floyd Benfield officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. today, July 12, 2009, at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff at Carolina Inn and Dr. Sasan Araghi and Sayeh Araghi for their compassionate care and support.
