James "Jim" Christian Gallagher, 31 of Austin, Texas, died Saturday, May 19, 2018. Captain Gallagher was a 2008 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point NY, initially assigned to Fort. Hood, Texas, and then to Fort. Belvoir, VA. He recently completed his Masters Degree at the Air Force Institute of Technology, graduating 2nd in his class and reported to Fort Lee, VA

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 1, 2018 at 1 p.m. at All American Chapel on Ft. Bragg. Burial will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.

Surviving are his wife, Amanda Ray Gallagher; daughters, Lacey, Mollie and Aimee; parents, COL (R) Joe and Luanne Gallagher; sisters, Jessica Drumheller and Jennifer Munroe; brother, Joe Gallagher; father- in-law and mother-in-law, COL (R) Ray and Wendy Lacey; sister-in-law, Caitlyn Lacey; brother-in-law, R.J. Lacey; maternal grandparents, Jack and Karen Jansen; paternal grandfather, LTC (R) Robert Gallagher; nephews, Carson and Camden Drumheller.
