James "Jimmy" Nelson Dew, 71, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, in his residence.
Mr. Dew served for 21 years with the U.S. Army, where he was a veteran of the Vietnam, Grenada and Korean wars. He was retired Range Control with Civil Service and a member of Hope Mills Cruisers Car Club.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at 3 p.m. in Jernigan-Warren chapel with burial following in Cumberland Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
Surviving are his wife, Shanna Jean Dew; daughters, Stacie Elizabeth Chandler and fiancé Leonard Lynch, Tonya Renee Dew and Jennifer Denise Honea; brother, Thomas A. Dew Sr.; sister, Cindy Ann Dew; grandchildren, Brandon Michael Chandler, Joshua David Chandler, Kaleigh Brooke Bailey, Chance Michael Clarke, Zachary James Honea and Samantha Jean Honea.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
