Obituary

James Vance Elmore, 71, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, in Carrol S. Roberson Hospice. Mr. Elmore was a veteran of the Army and served on active duty and as a part of the National Guard. Mr. Elmore retired from PWC as a field supervisor and was a member of Victory United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Saturday in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. The Revs. John Woodard and Maurice Lancaster will officiate the service. Mr. Elmore was preceded in death by a son, William Vance Elmore; parents, Bryan and Elizabeth Elmore; two sisters, Louise and Anna Belle; and a brother, Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Elmore of the home; son, Brett Elmore of Raleigh; three nieces; and eight great-nieces and great-nephews. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Friends of the cancer Center, Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, P.O.
