James Nicholas Emanuel, 96 of Fayetteville, died Monday, January 14, 2019.

James was a retired SSG from the United States Army after 23 years of service and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He was born September 8, 1922 in Robeson Co, N.C. to the late James Buxton and Dora Hammonds Emanuel.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 21, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Cumberland Memorial Gardens Chapel with military honors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Emanuel;  stepmother, Dora F. Revels Emanuel; brother, James A. Revels; sister, Myrtle Hosier Highland.

He is survived by his siblings, Marjorie Salas (Rudy) of Coats, N.C., Dorothy Gibson of West Union, S.C., Luther P. Emanuel (Chris) of Ft. Collins, CO, Shelvie Holmes (Charles) of Orlando, Fl., James B. Emanuel (Helen) of Lumberton, Olivia Sloan (Robert) of Baltimore MD, Rita Emanuel (John Anagnost) of Milford, NY; numerous nieces and nephews.
