Obituary

James Albert Jordan, 86, of Hope Mills, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Jim, as he was called by his friends, was born in Massey Hill on November 15, 1934 to Charles Franklin and Adelaide Perkins Jordan.

Jim is a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He was a lineman for Carolina Power until he medically retired.  He was an avid fisherman, both fresh and saltwater, and enjoyed spending time with friends and family at Topsail Beach.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Juanita Simmons and brother, Charles William Jordan.

Jim is survived by his wife, Sandra Jordan; daughter, Melinda Thompson and husband, John of Elizabethtown, KY; sister, Kay Zoucha and husband, Tony; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 1 to 2 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.  A funeral service will follow at 2 pm in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel.  Burial with military honors will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.
