James Tally "JT" Wiggins
Mr. JT Wiggins, 73, of Fayetteville, died Monday, November 1, 2010 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was born on September 8, 1937 to the late Vernie and Bessie Wiggins of Dillon County.
He served in the US Air Force before going into the Civil Service.
He was predeceased by three brothers; Bradford Wiggins, Houston Wiggins and Wilton Wiggins of Fayetteville, NC and HL Wiggins of St Pauls, NC. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Earline "Shorty" Raymes Wiggins of Fayetteville, a daughter Carol Wiggins of Cedar Creek, NC and a son James "Rusty" Wiggins and friend Mitchell Cheek of McColl, SC. He has three surviving siblings; a brother RC Wiggins and wife Alice of Fayetteville, NC, two sisters; Mamie Wiggins Dees and husband John of Fayetteville, NC and Myrtle Wiggins Holder and husband Sherrill and a sister-in-law Linda Evans Wiggins all of St. Pauls, NC. He also was survived by Johnny and Janice Tyndall of Cedar Creek, NC and several other brothers and sister-in-laws whom he cherished. He also had numerous niece and nephews, which he loved dearly.
He was the proud "Poppie" of three grandsons; Ricky, James and fiancee Jennifer Breeze and Lou Adams and a granddaughter Sarah Champneys. He was a great grandfather to five great grandchildren; Jonathon, Jase, Brandon, Camren and Cooper.
He will be remembered as a great fan of baseball where he could always be found cheering on his grandson from the stands. He will be truly missed in the baseball community and will be cheering now from his seat in heaven.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Thursday November 4, 2010 at Lakedale Church of God located at 2211 Southern Avenue, Fayetteville, NC officiated by Preachers Richard Skinner, Ken Byrd and Gary Leviner. Burial will be in Oakridge cemetery in St. Pauls,NC
The family will receive friends at Jernigan Warren on Wednesday November 3, 2010 from 7pm till 9pm.
