Lt Col James L Louden USAF "Big Jim" Col Louden 92,died August 29 at the Whitestone Care and Wellness Center, Greensboro, N.C. He was born January 15,1921 in Pittsburgh,Pa. Survivors include his son Dr James L Louden Jr a dentist in Harrisburg, NC; his daughter Teri L Louden of Louden@Company in La Jolla,CA and grandson Les Louden a 4th year pharmacy student at ETSU. He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Louden Col Louden served 30 years in the USAF. Flew 55 combat missions in WW II as a B-26 Maurder pilot. which included 2 missions on D-Day over Utah Beach and a mission that destoyed the German Panzer oil depot during the Battle of the Bulge. A private memorial service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery and also at Mt Soledad in San Diego, CA. Memorials may be made to the Masonic and Eastern Star Home of NC, 700 South Holden Road, Greensboro, NC 27407 A Memorial Graveside service will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
