FAYETTEVILLE - Retired Army Staff Sgt. James Albert Miller, 81, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011. He was a member of the Marine Corps and Army for 20 years. He was a wounded combat veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Miller and Ella Miller Shaw; brothers, Leonard Miller and Wayne Miller; and sisters, Wanda Lenz, Irene Perry and Mattie Powell. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2011, in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 5 p.m. today, Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Yukiko \\"Jeannie\\" Miller of the home; daughters, Brenda Leggett and husband John of Fayetteville, and Tammy Henderson and husband Bain of Leesburg, Ga.; son, James Miller Jr. and wife Annette Green of Washington, D.C.; sisters, Lilly Mae Love of Spearman, Texas, Virginia Lincoln of Elgin, Kan., Joy Campbell of Woodward, Okla., and Nancy Calhoun of Buffalo, Okla.; brothers, Pete Miller of Higgins, Texas, Leslie Miller of Langley, Kan., and Aaron Miller of Shattuck, Okla.; three grandchildren, Shannon Clark, Sean Leggett and Akemi Henderson; two great-grandsons, Nicholas Clark and Liam Clark; and numerous nieces and nephews.
