Retired Army Specialist 7, James Ralph Scott, 85, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Womack Army Medical Center in Ft. Bragg. Mr. Scott was retired from the Army after 20 years of service in which time he served in both World War II and Korea; he was also retired from civil service at Ft. Bragg after 20 years of service as Chief Claims Officer at the JAG office. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at 2 pm in Jernigan Warren Chapel with Rev. Bryan Sexton officiating. The burial will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park with military honors. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Scott of the home; a son, Jeffrey Scott; daughter, Pamela Paulson; two sisters, Alice Van Dusen and Oriana Jackson; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Tuesday evening, March 27, 2007, at the funeral home.
