Mr. James Myers Wade, 72 of Wade went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, Falcon, NC with Pastor Sammy McLamb officiating. The family will receive friends at the church at 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents Marshall McCoy Wade and Reba James Wade and his brother Marshall Wade. Myers is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elaine Wade; his son, Jamie Wade and wife Brenda all from Wade; daughter Jennifer Prins and husband Scot from Castle Hayne, NC and daughter Shea Raydo and husband Matt from Wake Forest, NC. He had four grandchildren; Jessica Prins, Tyler Wade, Sloane and Leyton Raydo. He also had two great grandchildren; Christian and Cade Prins. Myers retired from Black & Decker in 1996 and went on to own Wade's Backhoe Service for several more years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his yard, gardening, riding his motorcycle with friends and sitting on his front porch with family and friends. Myers was a gifted master knife designer/maker for more than 30 years. Myers was a dedicated husband and father and was so very proud of his family and their accomplishments. He had a huge heart and would help anyone anyway that he could. Many will remember him for his ability to tell colorful stories and his silly sense of humor.
