James Walter Wingfield, 82, of Fayetteville passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022.

Jim was born on September 25, 1939, in Parsons, West Virginia to the late Walter Hobart Wingfield and Evelyn Maxine Stewart Wingfield. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a retired owner and operator of Wingfield's Ornemental Iron. He was currently working as a school crossing guard with Southview Schools.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Rev. Allen Phillips will be officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.

Jim was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Dilley and Gloria Roy, and step-mother, Eloween Sherman Wingfield.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra "Sandy" Jackson Wingfield (February 18, 2022 they would have celebrated their 50th anniversary); daughters, Melody Goodman; Vicki Thomas and Pamela Sue Britton; brothers, Frank, Paul and John Wingfield; sister, Judy Adkins; granddaughter, ReDonna Brooke Goodman, and Vanessa Lewallen; great granddaughter, Isabella Grace Mounts; numerous other grandchildren and great grandchildren.
