Janet Elizabeth Grimsley passed away on April 2, 2024, at the age of 84, at Highsmith Rainy Specialty Hospital in Fayetteville, NC.

She was born on October 29, 1939. Janet is predeceased by her parents, Lottie S. Grimsley and Willard F. Grimsley and her siblings, Warren P. Grimsley, Chestley W. Grimsley and Dianne G. Solomon. Janet is survived by her daughter, Kimberly P. Hunter.

Janet's first full time job was working as a hostess at Leonardo's Italian Restaurant. No matter how hectic things got at the restaurant, she always had a smile on her face for the customers. She then switched jobs and started working in retail for The Strawberry Barn Boutique selling ladies' clothing and accessories. She loved getting to know her customers and making sure they were well taken care of whenever they came in to shop. Janet loved fashion and keeping up to date with new trends. She loved cooking and baking and trying out new recipes. She loved baking cookies and other sweets to send to her brother, Chet, who always enjoyed them so much. Janet also enjoyed gardening a great deal. She loved making her yard and her surroundings as pretty and cheerful as possible.

Janet will be laid to rest at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery and Mausoleum, located at 2301 Ramsey Street in Fayetteville, NC. Her graveside service will be held Monday, April 15, 2024 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Rob James officiating.
