Obituary

Janis Barger Brennan, 70 of Fayetteville lost her battle with cancer and was called home by her Lord on August 15, 2017.

Janis was born at James Walker Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, NC on December 6, 1946 to the late Lena and Guy Barger.

Memorial services will be on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 3:00 pm in Campground United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Janis taught elementary school for 30 years in Cumberland County. She also was employed for two years as an elementary school teacher with the Department of Defense School System in Seoul, South Korea.

She was an avid Yoga student and instructor following her retirement. Her other loves were gardening, traveling, and walking for miles along the beach. She traveled extensively around Europe, parts of Asia and the United States. Janis was a member of Campground United Methodist Church.

Janis is survived by her loving husband, Tim; her son, Steven Bryan and stepsons, Scott and Sean Brennan; grand-daughter, Lauren Brennan and grandson, Moss Brennan. She is also survived by her sisters, Carole Blossom and Brenda Whiteside; nieces, Nancy Blossom, Jackie Hudspeth and nephews, William Bostic and Frank Blossom.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Cancer Society or Campground United Methodist Church.
