Obituary

Mr. Jason Douglas Schowengerdt Landphair, 35, passed away on Thursday January 29, 2015 in Afghanistan.

He was born January 6, 1980 in Des Moines, Iowa to Doug & Jean Landphair who are now of Christiana, Tennessee. Jason accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord & Savior & was baptized at age 10 & participated in several church sponsored mission trips including to Belarus, Venezuela, & Mexico.

He moved with the family to Chubbuck, ID & graduated from Highland High School in 1997 & graduated from Idaho State University in 2004 with a degree in international studies, he studied abroad in Morocco for two semesters of college.

Jason & Natasha Ford were married in 2007, they have two daughters: Sofia 3-1/2 years old & Lorenne 2-1/2 years old.

He enlisted in the Army in 2004, was a member of the 172nd Stryker Brigade stationed at Fort Wainwright, Fairbanks, Alaska & served one tour of duty in Iraq, was wounded & awarded the purple heart. He earded & awarded his Green Beret & was deployed to Afganistan three times. Jason was killed while working as a security contractor in Afganistan

Funeral service will be held Monday February 9, 2015 in Manna Church at 4 PM. The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM at the church.

He is survived by his wife Natasha; daughters Sofia and Wren; all of the home, sister Meredith Landphair now of Stamford, CT. ; parents Doug and Jean Landphair now of Christiana, TN; maternal grandmother Dixie Kreider; of Shawnee Mission, Kansas. paternal grandparents Charles and Deleta Landphair of Davenport, Iowa

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Rowland Schowengerdt.
