Jesse B. Rudd

Jesse Banks Rudd, a longtime Fayetteville resident, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the age of 97. Mr. Rudd served in the US Army until his retirement in 1962. He was a WWII and Korean War veteran. He was an avid Swampdogs fan and enjoyed attending their home games as a season ticket holder.

Mr. Rudd is survived by two daughters, Joyce Smith (Charles) and Carol Shackelford (Jimmy) both of Fayetteville, NC and a sister, Emma Hiott of Statesville, NC, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Felix Lester Rudd and Mallie Cleveland Rudd, his wife Elizabeth S. Rudd and a son Donald F. Rudd.

Visitation will be at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm with graveside services immediately following at Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
