Jessie Catherine Carver Davis passed away peacefully Friday, May 22, 2015 in Raleigh.

Jessie was born on May 27, 1927 in the Gray's Creek Community to John and Mildred Carver. Jessie was the youngest of three daughters and was predeceased by her older sisters, Louise Segars and Mary Jackson. Jessie graduated from Gray's Creek High School in 1945.

She was married to Hervey G. Davis for 64 years and lived most of their lives in Hope Mills. Jessie was a faithful church member at First Baptist Church of Fayetteville. She was a dedicated employee and retired from Home Federal Savings & Loan. Jessie was a devoted mother to Daryl G. Davis of Raleigh, her only child. She was a loving grandmother, mother-in-law and friend. Jessie always managed to put others needs before her own.

She is survived by her husband and son, daughter-in-law, Vicki M. Davis, grandchildren; Candis Davis Shandley and Ryan G. Davis, and great-grandson, Davis Gray Shandley.

The visitation will be on Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 10:30 am until 11:30 am in the memorial lounge at the church followed by the funeral at 11:30 in the church sanctuary with the Rev. A. Edward Beddingfield, officiating. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park-West on Raeford Rd.
